Dr. Elia takes great pride in mentoring and providing clinical supervision to Registered Psychological Assistants (PA) and Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Interns (MFTI) who are interested in developing a private practice. Dr. Elia's current team consists of Justin Weiss, Ph.D. PSB 94021409 and Elnaz Mayeh, MFTI, IMF 99907 who are both supervised by Dr. Elia. Dr. Weiss and Elnaz both offer sliding scale and weekend and evening appointments.
Dr. Weiss earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a focus in Depth Psychology (Psychoanalytic and Jungian modalities). He completed his Pre-Doctoral internship at an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited multicultural counseling center in Los Angeles and a two-year Post-Doctoral fellowship in Pasadena where he received specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and trauma. He is a professor at California State University, Northridge where he teaches topics relating to identity and multiculturalism. His research on resilience focuses on how adversity provides opportunities for personal and societal transformation, which he has presented at various professional conferences. He served as a scholar on the APA Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) Multicultural Concerns Committee and is an editor for the Journal of Humanistic Psychology. He practices primarily using an integrative approach of relational psychodynamic psychotherapy with cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals and couples maximize their full potential. Dr. Weiss has experience working with issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, personality disorders, professional development, identity emergence, multiculturalism, and self-actualization.

Elnaz Mayeh, M.A., MFTI is a registered intern and has received training at AIDS Project Los Angeles and Prominence Treatment Center. She received her B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She provides services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples under my supervision. Her areas of interest and expertise include anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, self-esteem issues, trauma and stressor-related disorders, HIV+, LGBTQ, parenting skills training, relational and marital issues, and addiction. Elnaz primarily applies CBT, solution-focused, mindfulness, and supportive therapy depending on the unique needs of each client. Elnaz provides therapy in both English and Farsi, offers sliding scale, and accepts evening and weekend appointments.
